I was invited to do a story telling session for World Conservation Day by Bharathi Vidhyaa Kendhra.
I chose to narrate "A Christmas Story" from my book "The Postwoman and Other Stories". In this story, a landslide prevents the children from going to the shop and buying Christmas decorations. Although the children are initially disappointed, they soon come up with a plan to make Christmas decorations using available, natural resources around them.
In my session, I talked about how landslides are becoming more prevalent in hill stations as a result of deforestation. Through my story, I also discussed how there are alternate ways to celebrate festivals in a sustainable manner.
